Meet Kelly
Kelly Davies is the most wholesome sweetheart in the city. This pure hearted SUPERBABE is going to make all y'all melt when you meet her. Kelly and her sister Emily modelled for us at HIATUS but this is her first time walking in a Fenntessa show. We are thrilled to have you Kelly!!!!
Fenntessa: This year's collection is inspired by sports. Do you have a favourite sport or physical activity? Can you describe some of the things you do to stay healthy, happy and swimsuit ready?
Kelly: I love playing tennis with friends when it’s nice out. I also like to do yoga a couple times a week. I don’t make time for the gym, but my work, hobbies and healthy diet keep me happy and fit.
Fenntessa: Do you have a favourite work out song, or a jam that makes you feel on top of world?
Kelly: “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eye Peas
Fenntessa: We LOVE to travel. What's the best vacation you've ever taken?
Kelly: Going to Sweden to study abroad for 6 months. I was able to visit 15 different countries throughout Europe! Travelling is truly the best form of education.
Fenntessa: The print this year is an imaginative composition of animals playing sports. Do you have a favourite animal?
Kelly: I love all animals, but dogs are definitely my favourite… and koala bears! They’re so cute and cuddly looking.
Fenntessa: We know you are all fun fearless women – when you’re not prepping to rock the runway, what does your typical day look like?
Kelly: My days vary a lot. I have 3 part time jobs and I am working on a few community projects. I recently completed a practicum in Sustainable Agriculture, so now I spend most days thinking of ways that we can improve our food system and connection to food.
Fenntessa: What’s your day job/side hustle and favourite hobbies?
Kelly: For the past few years I have been working at a fine dining restaurant and at the various 24hr front desks for Student Housing at UBC. I also sometimes work at Arbutus Coffee in Kitsilano. What I like most about my jobs is that I have been able to work on several meaningful community projects. At UBC, I helped run a couple projects related to food security, nutrition, and cooking. At Arbutus Coffee, I got a honeybee hive set up in the backyard and ran urban beekeeping workshops. When I’m not working, I love cooking, gardening, hanging out with friends, painting, playing tennis, and taking dogs for walks or to the kits dog beach!
Fenntessa: Any words to live by or special quote?
Kelly: Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.
